ABOUT US
An independent deep sky studio
AetherX points long exposure optics at the faintest structures in the night sky and brings them back as clean, honest photographs. No invented colour, no shortcuts, only patient light collection over many nights.

Our Vision
Build an open, permanently available record of the deep sky that anyone can consult without a licence fee or an institutional login.
Hold every published frame to a documented capture standard so the image can be trusted as evidence, not only admired as decoration.
Bring new observers into the field by sharing the full workflow, from mount alignment to final calibration, in plain language.
Our Mission
Observe consistently. Long integration over many clear nights beats a single lucky exposure, and the schedule is built around that discipline.
Process honestly. Colour is derived from filtered data, never painted in, and every step is logged alongside the finished frame.
Archive permanently. Raw stacks are preserved so the same target can be re-examined years later with better tooling.
Teach openly. Capture notes, equipment lists and failures are published together, because the failures teach the most.

Capture Standard
01
Acquisition
Tracked long exposures gathered in sub-frame sets across multiple clear nights, logged with seeing and transparency.
02
Calibration
Matching dark, flat and bias sets are captured in the same session and applied before any stretch.
03
Integration
Sub-frames are registered and stacked with outlier rejection, keeping signal and discarding satellites and cosmic hits.
04
Review
Each finished frame is checked against the raw stack before it is published to the archive.
